Good web design is essential to promoting your business on the Web. Your web site is often the first contact a potential customer makes with you, so a professional appealing site that is easy to navigate is crucial if your site is to work as a marketing tool for your business.

What makes a good web design?

A clear, visually pleasing home page that is informative to the visitor telling them what the site is about. Site navigation is another important aspect, easy to use is much more appealing then spending time trying to work your way through a huge web site.

Fast Loading Pages. If the pages take too long to load, the visitor will not wait around. They will go elsewhere.

Consistency. If all the pages have some consistency with the rest of the site, this will help the visitor to glide through without getting lost.

Alignment. Simply aligning text and graphics consistently on a page can make the web page look uncluttered and more professional.

Graphics. Some graphics or animation can catch someone's eye and can be very appealing, but never overdo it. Too many moving objects and text can be very irratating at times. Space them out and minimise the amount you use on each page.
